Beginning with its release in 1997, the Honda Recon became an instant hit with ATV riders looking for a lightweight utility four wheeler. Lightweight had a double meaning for the earliest Honda Recon as it was definitely lighter than its big brother, the Honda Foreman, but it was also lighter on the wallet as far as price!
Also known as the TRX250, the Honda Recon continues to be developed further to this day to build upon the success of this mid-size FourTrax ATV (which is really classified as a small size ATV now). The current Honda Recon four wheelers for sale from your dealer and back into 2008 are available in either a Base format, or an ES format.

We highly recommend the Honda Recon ES, which stands for Electronic Shift, making it far easier to shift gears via the handlebar buttons. But if your interested in saving money or you like the conventional four wheeler shift mechanism, then the base Honda Recon and it's foot centered transmission should do the trick nicely.

* Brakes: Hydraulic drum for the front; mechanical drum for the rear
* Suspension: independent double wishbone in the front with over 5" of travel; rear of the Recon has 4.9" of travel on a swingarm, single shock setup

* Clearance: 6" of ground clearance
