Used Four Wheelers and ATV's

We've written about Honda four wheelers below the Honda TRX300 in size, but those are incredibly underpowered for most people. And we've written about Honda ATV's above the TRX300 in size, but usually everything above costs just a bit too much. So what we are going for here is a four wheeler that has just enough power for the average person to be able to do what you want with the ATV without being frustrated. But we also want to save just a bit of money on what amounts to a recreational resource (ie not typically necessary).

And that's exactly what the Honda TRX300 four wheeler accomplishes! The TRX300 is powered with a 282cc sized engine: ample enough for going fast or climbing over obstacles. But the Honda TRX300 also adds on a few features that make it more like it's more expensive brethren such as the easy to use one button electric start, the double wishbone suspension, and a more performance oriented 5-speed, chain driven suspension.

We also promised that the Honda TRX300 will also be cheaper than the higher performance TRX four wheelers. As of this writing, Honda has not placed a new model of the TRX300 on the market since 2009. They do still sell them, brand-new, in the showroom, so we have to go with the pricing available there. If you compare the TRX300 to the TRX400, you will find that the price of the Honda TRX300 is around $1,000 less than the 400 in brand new condition. The Honda TRX300 has changed over the years. The four wheeler as late as 1999 was sold as if it were a utility four wheeler. It in fact looked liked a utility four wheeler. But the TRX300 of today looks more like a racing quad. The double-wishbone front suspension and single shock in the rear lean toward this look. As does the narrower body but wider stance.
