While Polaris has several different models of utility ATV, by far the most popular model and size is the Polaris Sportsman 500 Four Wheeler (HO and EFI models). The Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV brand new costs between $5,999 and $6,999 (with the EFI being more expensive than the HO model). Both models of the Sportsman 500 feature a 498 horsepower single cylinder four stroke engine. The Sportsman 500 EFI features fuel injection, while the HO has the carburetor. Both Polaris Sportsman 500 models have a CVT belt driven drive shaft transmission.

As of this year, the Sportsman 500 EFI four wheeler is not on the list of available four wheelers, with Polaris instead deciding to focus more on the more popular Sportsman 500 HO ATV trim model. The Sportsman 500 EFI is a little bit bigger and stronger than the 500 HO in weight and tire size, but the EFI is supposed to have a little more value in that area due to the work that was expected of it.

In addition to the Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI and HO trim models, the Polaris 500 Scrambler and Polaris 500 Predator will be available at times, along with other Polaris 500 models as the company has been manufacturing the Sportman 500 for many years.
